  • Your pickup and destination: a full address for a home, or the name of the hotel, airport or terminal.
  • The total number of passengers, including children.
  • The number of check-in suitcases and hand or cabin bags.
  • Details of mobility equipment, pushchairs, golf bags or other large items.
  • Flight details for an airport connection, or the all-aboard time for a tour returning to the ship.

How to meet your driver at Greenock

Follow the collection instructions supplied for your booking and keep your phone switched on. Terminal access arrangements can affect where a private hire vehicle is able to meet you, so avoid assuming that collection will be directly beside the ship.

If you cannot find the agreed meeting point, contact us using your booking details. If you learn that your ship or disembarkation is delayed, let us know promptly so we can discuss the options. Any change depends on availability and the terms of your booking.

Travelling to Glasgow or Edinburgh Airport

For a flight after a cruise, consider the whole connection: leaving the ship, collecting bags, reaching the car, road travel and your airline’s check-in and bag-drop deadlines. Also allow time for security and reaching the gate.

Do not choose a flight based only on an optimistic driving time. Traffic and cruise-day timings can vary, and Glasgow Airport and Edinburgh Airport are different destinations. Check the airport on your ticket and share the flight details when arranging your airport transfer.

Getting dropped off for the start of your cruise

Use your cruise line’s check-in or embarkation slot to plan the journey from home, your hotel or the airport. Allow a sensible margin for road conditions and keep your travel documents and essential items accessible.

If you need collection after the cruise as well, arrange that journey in advance and check both sets of details. The return date, pickup time or number of bags may differ from the outward trip.

Choosing the right vehicle

Cruise luggage can take up more room than expected. Count bags as well as passengers, including cabin cases and any extra equipment. A vehicle with enough seats is not automatically large enough for all the luggage.

Planning a private tour during your port call

A private tour should be built around your ship’s all-aboard time, with a return margin. Share what you would like to see, how much walking suits your group and how long you have ashore. We can then discuss a realistic route rather than squeezing too many stops into the day.

Tours need an individual quote and advance agreement. A privately arranged tour should not be assumed to carry a cruise-line guarantee that the ship will wait if you are late. Keep the agreed return time central to your plans.

Book before your travel day

Raz Private Hire is a pre-booked service with a minimum of 12 hours’ notice. We do not provide immediate or on-demand pickups. For a cruise connection or private tour, arranging transport early gives more time to check the details and vehicle availability.
